O DITADOR DA COREIA DO NORTE - INTERPRETAÇÃO DE TEXTO/INGLÊS ( 1º AO 3º ANO ) COM GABARITO

Text: The Dictator of North Korea

Kim Jong-un is the leader of North Korea, a country in East Asia. He has been in power since December 2011, following the death of his father, Kim Jong-il. Kim Jong-un comes from a family that has ruled North Korea for three generations, starting with his grandfather, Kim Il-sung.

Kim Jong-un was born on January 8, 1984. He studied in Switzerland during his youth, where he learned English, German, and French. After returning to North Korea, he attended a military university. His rise to power was marked by strict control over the country and its people.

Under Kim Jong-un's leadership, North Korea has continued to focus on its military, especially its nuclear weapons program. This has led to tensions with many countries around the world, including the United States and South Korea. Despite international sanctions, Kim Jong-un has pursued the development of missiles and nuclear technology.

Life in North Korea is very controlled. The government closely monitors its citizens, and there is limited access to information from outside the country. The state controls all media, and there are strict rules about what people can say and do.

Kim Jong-un is known for his distinct appearance, often seen wearing a black suit and sporting a unique hairstyle. He has made efforts to show a different side of himself by appearing at public events and even meeting with foreign leaders, such as the President of the United States.

Despite the strict regime, there have been reports of economic changes in North Korea. Kim Jong-un has introduced some market-oriented reforms, allowing limited private enterprise in certain areas. However, the country remains largely isolated and dependent on aid, especially from China.
