TEXTO EM INGLÊS SOBRE BULLYING 8º AO 1º ANO DO ENSINO MÉDIO

Text: Bullying in School

Bullying is a significant problem in schools around the world. It involves repeated aggressive behavior intended to hurt or intimidate another person. Bullying can take many forms, including physical violence, verbal abuse, social exclusion, and cyberbullying. It can occur in person or online, and it affects students of all ages.

Types of Bullying

  1. Physical Bullying: This includes hitting, kicking, or pushing someone. It is the most visible type of bullying and can result in physical harm.

  2. Verbal Bullying: This involves name-calling, insults, or making fun of someone. Verbal bullying can be just as harmful as physical bullying and can leave emotional scars.

  3. Social Bullying: Also known as relational bullying, this involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships. Examples include spreading rumors, excluding someone from a group, or embarrassing someone in public.

  4. Cyberbullying: This takes place online or through electronic devices. It can include sending hurtful messages, posting embarrassing photos, or creating fake profiles to mock someone.

Effects of Bullying

Bullying can have serious effects on both the victim and the bully. Victims of bullying may experience depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and academic problems. They may feel isolated and unsafe at school. Bullies, on the other hand, are more likely to engage in risky behaviors and have trouble with the law later in life.

Prevention and Intervention

Schools and communities can take steps to prevent bullying and intervene when it occurs. It is important to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable reporting bullying. Teachers, parents, and students can work together to promote kindness and respect. Implementing anti-bullying programs and policies can also be effective in reducing bullying in schools.
